Goodbye to Darwin
James Perloff
I always believed the Bible
I knew that it had no rival
But then in public school
They said I was sure a fool
The program of this institution
Is the theory of evolution
Why bother to see a priest?
Don’t you know you’re just a beast?
Oh, how did we rise
from the muck?
They say it just happened by good luck!
The only way we advance
Is
by the hand of chance
So prance, prance, prance
to the Darwin dance!
They said that
there’s no design
Nothing in this world’s divine
Everything in all creation
Came
about from chance mutation
Now the school kept teaching this lie
The kids lost their
faith by and by
The results left no escape
We soon had the morals of the ape
Oh,
how did we rise from the muck?
They say it just happened by good luck!
The only way
we advanceIs by the hand of chance
So we pranced, pranced, pranced
to the Darwin
dance!
Then finally I just got weary
Of hearing of Darwin’s theory
As science it’s
just facade
For spurning the truths of God
I said I’d like to differ if you please
Mutations cause sickness and disease
And cells are too complicated
For chance to
have created
Oh, how did we rise from the muck?
They say it just happened by good
luck!
The only way we advance
Is by the hand of chance
So prance, prance, prance
to the Darwin dance!
A frog turned into a handsome prince
We call that a fairy tale
But say that evolution did it
Get a PhD from Yale
Good-
We’ve
had enough of your lie
Good-
